Sarah M. Lawrence
Sarah has always been a devoted angel to her family, a true matriarch in every sense of the word. She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she enriched with her loving care.
To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations -Sarah’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the following
Founded in 1952 with the vision to have life free of diabetes and all of its burdens, the American Diabetes Association is driven by its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected with this disease. Through its myriad programs including research funding, delivered services to communities, and providing objective and relevant information to patients, physicians and communities, the ADA continues its efforts to fulfill its goal of eradicating diabetes.
The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Founded by six cardiologists in 1924, the organization now includes more than 22.5 million volunteers, 156 local offices and over 3,000 employees. The organization funds innovative research, advocates for stronger public health policies, and provides critical tools and information to save and improve lives. The American Stroke Association was created as a division in 1997 to bring together the organization’s stroke-related activities.
In 1904, Tuberculosis (TB) was the most feared disease in the world. Determined to battle the "White Plague," a group of doctors and concerned citizens engaged in a revolutionary concept at the time - a nationwide organization to fight a single disease. Initially called the National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis, it was the first voluntary health agency in America. Today, as the American Lung Association, the organization continues to focus on improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research.
The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families, and tens of millions of Americans at risk.
The Foundation is currently focused on making the more than 73 million Americans at risk for kidney disease aware of the condition through its first national summit and continued expansion of its community-based programs. Additionally, it is addressing the 26 million patients currently living with the disease -many of whom don't know they are afflicted - through its early detection program KEEP Healthy. And it continues to sponsor its Young Investigators Forum, whereby innovative researchers in the field are able to present and advance new technologies and therapies to help those patients who are living with all stages of kidney disease.
