Trenton Area Soup KitcheN

The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (T.A.S.K.) is a private, non-sectarian, charitable organization that depends almost entirely on the help of dedicated volunteers and generous financial support from individuals, churches, local businesses and community organizations. T.A.S.K. provides more than 3,000 free meals per week to people in need in the Trenton area. Activities are directed toward helping patrons achieve healthier lifestyles, increased self-esteem, and self-sufficiency. To this end, T.A.S.K. and agencies using our facility provide a wide array of social, community and health services.

Toys for Tots Foundation

In 1947, Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR founded Toys for Tots in Los Angeles, collecting 5,000 toys during a campaign before Christmas. The following year, the US Marine Corps adopted the program and expanded it into a national campaign, with Walt Disney himself designing the train logo still used today.

Since then, the program has followed its mission of providing hope and Christmas joy to less fortunate young children during the holiday season.  Its goal continues to be to to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
