Jerry gave everything he had when he was on the field, whether it was his high and tight fastball or his patient dedication as coach for hundreds of young women who learned to play the game from him.

He will be forever remembered for his prowess on the mound, his integrity as a coach and for the love, affection and devotion he gave to his wife, children and grandchildren.

Joseph Thomas Angiolino was born with a rare, congenital disease called Hurler’s Syndrome and despite all medical treatments, passed away at 15 months of age in 2010. His parents founded Joey’s Little Angels to help other families who are in need of support - emotional, logistical, financial - in helping their own children who are in need of significant medical treatments. In addition to the 12,000 toys the organization has donated during the holiday seasons, Joey’s Little Angels has also given over $100,000 to the Duke Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Family Support Program to help other families and children like Joey during the most challenging time of their young lives.
