A Denville native, David brought joy and heartfelt laughter to his community, his friends and his loving and devoted family. His kindness, generosity and the words of the day he shared will be forever etched in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.

Salvation Army

Founded in the East End of London in 1878, the organization received its name when William Booth read a printer's proof of an annual report stating "The Christian Mission is a volunteer army." Replacing ‘volunteer’ with ‘salvation’, he and his wife Catherine founded the Salvation Army. What began as a loosely organization of 1,000 has grown into an international Christian operating centers in communities across the world, providing food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children's programs.

The New Jersey Division of the Salvation Army was founded in Newark in 1880, and now has 29 Corps Worship & Community Centers which are the most basic service components of The Salvation Army, providing religious and social services adapted to the needs of their communities.

All donations made in David’s name will be funded to the Dover location of the Salvation Army New Jersey Division.
