Seeds of Service
The grassroots efforts of The Ministry, Visitation Relief Center began shortly after Hurricane Sandy in November of 2012, where it worked to improve the process of receiving assistance and increasing access to resources in times of adversity or need. In 2018, it was deemed the mission had been fulfilled, yet there were still unmet community needs irrespective of disaster relief. To address this, Project S.O.S. Seeds Of Service was created, whose mission is to assist and advocate for the sick, the poor and the needy, in services designed to meet their needs while collaborating with other community partners. The organization helps to educate and prepare youth and young adults struggling with special needs, disabilities, or at-risk behaviors with job readiness skills; and it provides short-term housing for youth and young adult volunteer mission teams while serving the community.
