Karen and Jim traveled around the globe, experiencing myriad foreign cultures and exotic gardens with indigenous flora. Yet for all their extensive travel, nothing was more satisfying to Karen than being home with their family, where the richest experiences were shared stories with children and grandchildren and savoring the joy & laughter.
Karen will be forever missed, yet her smile will continue to warm the hearts of all those who admired and adored her.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of its founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
Garden Conservancy
Founded in 1989 by Frank Cabot after a tour of Ruth Bancroft’s Walnut Creek garden, the Garden Conservancy is dedicated to preserving sharing, and celebrating America's gardens and diverse gardening traditions for the education and inspiration of the public.
Karen’s passion was gardening and she was talented and enthusiastic about horticulture, as evidenced by the beautiful gardens she grew on her property. She was a member and past President of Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum where Karen co-chaired their annual plant sale for over 10 years; and was also a member of The Home Garden Club of Morristown, the North American Rock Garden Society, and the American Hosta Society.
