Harry Dachisen

There are some born into this world with an intrinsic gift of generosity, whose defining purpose is to help those around them with a seemingly endless supply of energy, enthusiasm and genuine affection for others.

Harry was one of these few.

With his humble service as a mentor at St. Peter’s Orphanage and his selflessly volunteered time delivering food & friendly company to the needy of his community, words cannot adequately express the impact he had on so many who were truly blessed to have known him.

The joy & laughter that Harry brought with his sense of humor and love of life will always be remembered in the smiles of those he loved and who loved him unequivocally in return.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged, Harry’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

Eva’s Village

Originally founded as Eva’s Kitchen in 1982 by Msgr. Puma, offering food for the poor, it has continued to add programs providing shelter, substance abuse treatment and medical aid that fulfilled his vision of an entire village dedicated to helping people find a way out of poverty.  From a simple soup kitchen, Eva’s Village has become a comprehensive anti-poverty organization in New Jersey with targeted services providing treatment, recovery and support.

“When you take someone’s hand, you cannot drop it until they can stand on their own two feet.”

A devout Catholic and Deacon of his church, Harry lived his faith through humble, yet demonstrable good works, leading a group every month to Eva’s Village in Paterson to feed and care for those in need.
