With his sardonic wit and unrivaled sense of humor, Jim lived life with zest and encouraged everyone around him to do the same.

Lustgarten Foundation

Founded in 1999 in memory of Marc Lustgarten, The Lustgarten Foundation was established to advance research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer while raising public awareness and providing support for patients and their families. Initially considered an orphan disease, the National Cancer Institute allocated only $16.2 million for research into pancreatic cancer. With the Lustgarten Foundation not only providing new sources of funding for innovative research, but also raising awareness, the National Cancer Institute now dedicates more than $150 million annually toward finding a cure.
