In 1980 Julia and Joseph Quinlan founded the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in loving memory of their daughter. The personal connection between the organization and the people in the community has been the cornerstone of its growth and development. The Quinlan's legal battle for their daughter’s right to live without extraordinary means of life support, and landmark decision that followed, opened their eyes to the need for end-of-life care for patients. Recognizing that the Quinlan family has been in the very same situation, families understand that the hospice nurses, counselors, social workers, chaplains, and aides are here for one reason – for them.

The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Martin in his final days as it was not only beneficial to him, but also gave them the peace of mind they needed when entrusting others with the care and support of their loved one.

St. Jude Children's Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of its founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Martin was passionate about this organization during his lifetime and would make a donation whenever he could.
