Literacy Volunteers of Morris County believes that the ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English is essential for personal freedom and the sustainability of a democratic society. Its mission is to provide free instruction to Morris County adults in literacy, English fluency and American culture, whether it’s for a GED certification or preparation for U.S. citizenship.

Eleanor kept busy in her retirement with volunteer work for the Literacy Program of Morris County. Passionate about the program, she loved making new connections and teaching people how to read, ultimately changing and enhancing their lives.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
