Professional football player, Steve Gleason, who played for the New Orleans Saints from 2000-2008 was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in 2011. Since then, he and his family have adopted the mantra of ‘No White Flags’ and strive daily to find ways to help patients and their families better acclimate to life with ALS. Through their foundation, the mission of Team Gleason Foundation is to improve life for people living with ALS by delivering innovative technology and equipment, as well as providing and empowering an improved life experience, including Team Gleason Adventure.
Paralyzed Veterans of America
For 70 years, Paralyzed Veterans of America has been on a mission to change lives and build brighter futures for our seriously injured heroes—to empower these brave men and women with what they need to achieve the things they fought for: freedom and independence.
This organization was important to William as he was a member of the Colonial Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
