Make-A-Wish® New Jersey creates life-changing wishes for children battling critical illnesses in the Garden State. Since 1983, the New Jersey chapter of the Make-A-Wish® Foundation has brought hope, strength and joy to more than 10,000 seriously-ill children throughout all 21 counties in every city, town, and municipality in the Garden State.
Valerie Fund
The Valerie Fund Centers are hospital-based specialty centers where children are diagnosed and treated for cancer and blood disorders, providing comprehensive care to children and their families in its centers at seven pediatric hospitals in NJ, NY and metro Philadelphia. With a cross-functional care team, psychosocial staff, social workers and child life specialists work alongside medical staff to help patients and families navigate through the fear, stress and uncertainty that go hand in hand with their illness.
Founded in 1977 by Ed & Sue Goldstein, the fund has grown from a single center to seven, successfully pursuing its mission of providing comprehensive and individualized care for children and the families close to their homes.
