With an innate gift of truly caring to others, Sasha's sense of empathy, compassion and kindness nurtured and healed so many, both friends and strangers. Those who were blessed to have been a part of his journey knew the depths of his passions and the strength of his character.

Second Chance Animal Rescue of Puerto Rico

The island of Puerto Rico has been plagued by a severe stray animal population for many years, however, Hurricane Maria has now exacerbated the stray dog population to epidemic proportions. Although the island continues to battle days with no water or electricity, Second Chance never fails to provide shelter, medical attention and hope to animals that continue to be abandoned and forced to suffer on the streets. ​ Small but dedicated organizations such as Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) in Villalba, Puerto Rico have played a significant role in saving hundreds of forgotten animals for close to 20 years. Their goal is to place each rescue into a loving home stateside.

In 2017 Sasha volunteered for several months in Puerto Rico as a part of Disaster Relief to help the locals rebuild what they had lost after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. As Sasha’s younger brother Caiden would say, “Sasha knew how to take care of everyone.”
