Dave lived life to its fullest and his achievements defy a single lifetime.
Yet for all his accolades, the most meaningful monikers were always
Husband ~ Father ~ Grandfather - Great Grandfather ~ Friend
He gave his family the greatest gift he could - himself - and the adventures shared, the tales told and the memories created will continue to live on in those he loved and those who loved him unequivocally in return.
To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged, Dave’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the following
Cape May played a pivotal role in the fight to end slavery. Harriet Tubman lived in Cape May in the early 1850s, working to help fund her missions to guide enslaved people to freedom. After her initial journeys conducting freedom seekers to Canada, her friend and abolitionist leader Franklin Sanborn wrote, “She returned to the states, and as usual earned money by working in hotels and families as a cook. From Cape May, in the fall of 1852, she went back once more to Maryland, and brought away nine more fugitives.” The New Jersey Historical Commission says she spent two other summers in Cape May.
The Cape May Point Science Center (The Center) stands nestled among the dune grasses at New Jersey’s southernmost point, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Delaware Bay to create one of the country’s most vital and bio-diverse ecosystems. Dedicated to environmental protection, restoration, and conservation throughout the region, its mission is to promote marine, ornithological, and ecological research, education, and advocacy by making the property available to the numerous conservation and education organizations active in South Jersey and beyond.
The Clemans Family would like to thank the entire staff for the compassion and generosity they provided Dave while he was under their care. A memorial contribution to the Cape Regional Medical Center would be both a living tribute to his memory and help other families receive the care they deserve - when they need it most.
