begins to swell

outside my bedroom window.

I love wind, 

its strength and harshness.

I love the song

of loose windows rattling.

A light rain starts;

I love that, too.

I go to the bathroom

and look in the mirror.

I shave already grey hair

from my young face.

I may never know love,

may never get it right.

I may sleep forever,

dream of you while rain

hits the windowpanes,

and dawn slides into the room

from behind the blue

curtains; but I love you, partly

because you are not here.
