Jackson Rannells

Jackson had the gift of leadership and was “an influencer” for the recovery of others.

One could hear him on the phone trying to get a detox bed for a friend, leading a meeting in rehab or filling his quad when incarcerated with those interested in bible studies.

He wanted to help others realize their own worth, and to be successful and safe.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged, Jackson’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to help others struggling with the disease of addiction.

‘Not an Easy Fix’

The Rannells Family would like to honor Jackson’s dream, and in his own words, help others overcome the debilitating and constant challenge of the disease of addiction.

Every stage of recovery has its challenges. A positive support system can help individuals avoid relapse by coping with stress and triggers, and also promote a greater sense of well-being and empowerment to continue on the path of recovery. The isolation of the pandemic and the limitations placed on the needed support networks especially took its toll on those struggling in 2020 and unfortunately, continue to do so in the new year.

The ‘Not An Easy Fix’ Memorial Tribute Fund will equally allocate all contributions made in Jackson’s honor to the following organizations that were able to courageously continue providing these valuable services despite unprecedented challenges.

Please read the impact these organizations have before making your donation toward the bottom of the page.

Freedom House

Since 1986, Freedom House has been dedicated to providing treatment services for individuals wanting to overcome their disease of addiction and empowering them with the skills to live healthy and independent lifestyles.  Freedom House in Glen Gardner provides long-term structured residential treatment solutions for men with chronic problems of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in a non-institutional supportive setting.  Freedom House has grown to also offer several transitional sober living programs and houses, as well as outpatient counseling services for both adult men and women to help prepare individuals to responsibly integrate back into society.

Teen Challenge

David Wilkerson, a young pastor from Pennsylvania, heard God say “Go to New York City and help those boys”. He started the ministry of Teen Challenge in 1958. The dramatic conversion and transformation of a notorious Brooklyn gang leader, Nicky Cruz, is described in his 1963 book ‘The Cross & the Switchblade”. Teen Challenge’s mission is to bring life-changing hope to addicts and their families. After years of growing the organization and acquiring many properties throughout the US and Canada, 88 scenic acres in Lebanon, NJ were gifted to Teen Challenge in 2014 allowing it to move from its Newark location and to increase its facility to 90 beds. The highly structured program provides the framework needed to rebuild self-worth, to overcome life’s struggles and to be a productive member of society. The duration of the 12-month program gives addicts and their families the time they need to heal and renew themselves, & the Power of Christ works through its program rebuilding hope, strength and courage.
