Richard T. Parrish, Sr.

With a work ethic and integrity that made him a pillar of his community, 'Big Rich' was an inspiration to all who were fortunate to have known him.

Leaving a legacy of inspired character and a storied life, Richard will be forever remembered in the hearts and minds of those he loved and who loved him unconditionally in return.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Parrish Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

VFW POst 5700

Tracing its roots back to 1899, the VFW was organized by veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) who founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service, particularly medical care and pension contributions. Today, its mission is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts and to advocate on behalf of all veterans. The organization works diligently to ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.

Proudly and humbly serving in the U.S. Navy, Richard received the American Theatre Medal, the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medals throughout his service during WWII.  A memorial contribution to the VFW Post 5700 would be a living tribute to his memory and the dedicated service he gave his country.
