Phyllis Winstead

For 60 years, Phyllis 'The Yankee' and Henry 'The Rebel' broke down the divisions between North & South with their undying love for one another, raising their family with the best traditions of both cultures. Phyllis was a wonderful Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma and her passion for baking made her famous for her chocolate chip cookies and perfectly crafted fudge (with the 'patient' stirring help from her children).  Her love of sewing and knitting not only created the memories of Christmas past as her children awoke to homemade pj's, but also helped many children keep their heads warm and comfy with the bonnets she took the time to knit and donate.

A true matriarch of the Winstead Family, she was surrounded by the love she fostered.  She will be forever missed, always remembered and her story will continue on in those who were blessed to have known her.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Winstead Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

Friendship House

Friendship House, a social adult day center operated by the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey, is a safe haven where individuals with physical and cognitive challenges can find acceptance, companionship and practical assistance while their primary caregivers are afforded the peace-of-mind required to take a respite. The goal of Friendship House is to bring some joy into the lives of its clients and then return them to the care of loved ones who are refreshed by the "off duty" time the organization and its staff have provided.
