When the early morning air calls for an inspiring autumnal bike ride or the announcer calls out the starting lineup at the high school gym, the memories Joe made with family and friends will be shared once more in joyful remembrance and love.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - Joe’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the following

Childhood Leukemia Foundation

The Childhood Leukemia Foundation was founded in 1992 to specifically help newly diagnosed pediatric cancer patients cope and potentially thrive in light of their circumstance by promoting education, advocacy, self-esteem and most of all – smiles. Each program sponsored by the foundation has been specifically designed to help meet the emotional and educational needs of these very special children: The Hope Binder program provides families with an organizational tool to help track and prioritize medical information and costs associated with the treatment of their child; Hugs U Wear provides 100% custom-made wigs from donated hair to children suffering from a loss of self-esteem due to treatment induced hair loss; Wish Baskets are delivered to hospitalized children almost every day and are filled with age appropriate gift items and a $75 Gift Card to purchase another wish item of their choice; Keeping Kids Connected gifts iPads to children and hospitals to help young cancer patients remain connected to family, friends and school while receiving treatment. In addition, the iPads are a very useful tool to help divert the child’s attention during stressful, lengthy or painful procedures. All programs are free of charge and are available to any pediatric cancer patient at more than 250 hospitals in major cities across the United States.
