Proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, Edward continued in service to his community and most importantly, his unbounded dedication to family.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all those he loved and who loved him unconditionally in return.
To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - Edward’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to
PAws & STripes
Paws and Stripes began in 2010 when Lindsey Stanek’s ex-husband, Jim, suffered from a TBI as well as PTSD. After witnessing the positive impact therapy dogs provided while he was in treatment, she looked to make a service dog a permanent part of his continued rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, insurance companies don’t cover the cost of service dogs for veterans with these medical issues, and privately, costs range from $10 - $60,000 for the dog and its training. Under Lindsey’s leadership, Paws and Stripes provides service dogs for veterans with PTSD & TBI at no cost to the veteran to enroll.
