While Ann may have closed her beauty shop in 1969, she never truly retired. Her innate generosity, genuine warmth, and transcendent grace continued to make everyone who was blessed to have known her feel individually unique and truly beautiful.
With a fairytale fifty-year marriage to her husband John, three sons she adored and grandchildren who lovingly named her Bop, Ann was surrounded by the love she gave and which will be forever reflected in the beauty she helped create.
To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - Ann's family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the
American Lung association
For more than 110 years, the American Lung Association has been America's leading force for lung health—successfully tapping into America's spirit of community that inspires citizens to work together for better health and longer life for all. Founded in 1904, it was a revolutionary concept—a nationwide organization to fight a single disease. Tuberculosis (TB) was the most feared disease in the world, striking down the young and old, the rich and poor. Determined to battle what was called the "White Plague," a group of doctors and concerned citizens formed the first voluntary health agency in America, the National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis, later to become the American Lung Association. Today, the American Lung Association continues to work to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research. The organization is currently focused on five strategic imperatives: to defeat lung cancer; to improve breathable air; to reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families; to eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases; and to accelerate fundraising and enhance organizational effectiveness to support the urgency of its mission.
